Last month we had to replace our Jeep Commander, The IceBox. You guys saw we snagged a really cool JKU Rubicon with crazy low miles.
But w hat you didn’t see was that instead of a rental for the 20+ days that we were out a vehicle, we had a loaner from my in-laws. And then we hit peak Mercury.
3 g lorious Mercurys in 1 shot!
Please excuse the crap my son left on the back of my 82 Capri RS 5.0 , it is now cleaned off.

Many much Mercury !
Any progress on the Capri? Now that the RallyMetro is dead, the search is on for its replacement.

I’ve unfortunately had zero progress on it. there’s been too much going on to even touch it - which makes me very sad.
I heard about the RallyMetro, that also made me sad.
May I recommend another ridiculous vehicle? 90's Mercury Capri with a hard top. Cheap, silly, FWD and occasionally turbo’ed.
also recommend a Ford EXP or Mercury LN7, they were my next choice after a Capri

Well, someone’s gotta be a fan of Mercurys . It was good of you to take one for the team.

You should totally get a '91-'94 Capri

Sorry to hear that :(
I’ve yet to see a 90's Capri with a hard top. I didn’t even know that was a thing.
I had to look up the Mercury LN7, I had no idea those existed.
I’m more focused on finding something local, cheap, and durable. I don’t particularly care what it is.

We’ll see what comes up locally.

I’m hoping to really dig into it this spring, the youngest is a bit older which starts to let things me less hectic.
There’s a guy out here in M ichigan that even uses a Ford Festiva quite successfully . can’t get cheaper than that i imagine.
EXP’s and LN7's if they are in your area go for under a grand typically, part of it is that no one knows they exist and they were only factory 2 seaters (EXP had an optional jump seat that could be installed).

HA! I somehow stumbled into it. The Milan has been the best car I’ve ever owned. I sold the 68 Montego MX 5.0 Cyclone package a few years ago and bought the 82 Capri RS 5.0.
I like the Mountaineer in AWD V8 setup, this one is a RWD V6 but it still has more get up and go than the full time 4x4 Commander with the 3.7 in it, that’s for sure.

No you may not! I have first dibs on all EFI EXPs.

I missed a running driving Festiva for $300!

February for the second batch. I missed the first one.

So your saying the Mountaineer brought you to the peak?
![]() 12/17/2018 at 00:40 |

That’s fine, you know damn well I’d rather have an LN 7!
![]() 12/17/2018 at 00:41 |

Damn!

Umm. What?
![]() 12/17/2018 at 00:43 |

And from the peak of the Mountaineer I could see the Isle of Capri, and the beautiful city of Milan!
Such is the life of the winged messenger of the gods!

Then all 7 6 of them you shall have!

Yeah, it popped up on CL in the afternoon one weekday. By the time school was over and meetings were done (bleh!), it was already gone.
